Coles scholarships gives property students opportunity to shine

Coles has announced it is offering two scholarships to support students to become leaders in Australia’s property industry.

The Cole Group Scholarship, partnering with the University of Melbourne, will be given to Master of Property students at the Melbourne School of Design who are high achievers.

The scholarships will award students $30,000 for the two years of the Master of Property program.

The scholarships aim to allow students to focus on their studies and to remove barriers to full participation in all aspects of university life.

Coles’ Chief Sustainability, Property and Export Officer Thinus Keevé said the scholarships will assist industry capacity building whilst also rewarding high-performing students.

“We’re proud to be working with Melbourne University to support property students by enriching their educational experience with industry-based learning,” Keevé said.

“Coles is passionate about helping our team members to develop their careers, and this partnership will help the next generation of experts to establish their careers in this dynamic and rewarding industry.”

Coles Group and the University of Melbourne are both committed to exploring areas of potential property research collaboration, as well as supporting excellence for future practitioners entering the industry.

Coles Group believe the property field has a key role to play in the development of sustainable communities, both socially and environmentally.

Professor of Property at the University of Melbourne Piyush Tiwari said he welcomed the partnership with Coles.

“[We] look forward to [Coles] engaging closely in our academic activities,” Tiwari said.

“Their generous gift, in the form of two scholarships, will provide students with life-changing opportunities and faculty with resources to make a difference.”
