Abused SA Student Paid $40,000
A former South Australian student has been paid $40,000 by South Australia’s Education Department after suffering at the hands of a convicted sex offender employed at a regional school.
The 2009 settlement came three years before a different former student received $30,000 in alleged hush money from the department last year, after being wrongly accused of viewing hundreds of pornographic websites that his teacher had accessed.
